Week 3: #MayIsForMakers

Well, this post is more than a few days late. But what matters is that I’m here and posting, right?  🙂 In this case, better late than never!

I’ve been looking at several patterns this past week and trying to decide which ones would help me with my goal of taming my scrap piles. I have a great scrap block tutorial of my own that will work, but sometimes you just want something different, right?

So for my Week 3 #MayIsForMakers purchase I chose Five Spot by Jennie of Porch Swing Quilts. I think this pattern will look fabulous scrappy. It would also work well with a collection – I have a fat quarter bundle that may just be perfect. Here’s a pic:

Jennie has a very easy going quilting style that really appeals to me. I’m excited to start on this project. Chain piecing will make it a quick project, so hopefully I can get some of those scraps under control!

I hope you’re having a wonderful day. I’ll see you tomorrow for Main Crush Monday!
