Do you remember this whole cloth baby quilt I made for my niece last year?
Each month, her mother takes a progress pic of that sweet baby laying on this quilt. She is now 9 months old and is sitting on the quilt. Those babies grow so fast!
One of the things Baby Jenny likes to do is pick at the ‘bubbles’ on the minky side of the quilt, which I think is adorable.
Her momma doesn’t want her picking at her special quilt, so what’s a girl to do? Aunt Fefe to the rescue!
I made Baby Jenny her own special blankie that she can carry around wherever she goes, and pick at the “bubbles” all she wants. Love. One side is Minky, and the other is Soft & Cuddly from JoAnn fabrics. The blanket is so incredibly soft – I would love to have my own! With those owls! Adorable…
I will say that putting these two fabrics together and sewing them is a challenge. They are both soft, slippery, and a bit silky, so that makes them difficult to manage. It certainly isn’t perfect and nowhere near square, but Jenny doesn’t care so I decided I won’t worry about it either.
I’m going to make another one for her brother over the weekend. Hopefully, if the weather cooperates, I’ll get to see them at the end of the month. I can’t wait to see both of them. It’s been way too long!
