MCM #37

So.

I am still working on the quilting of the grunge quilt and I’m still loving it. It is soooo close to being finished! All the bubbles are quilted, the matchstick work is done and I’m at the point where I’m adding the final touches so hopefully I will have it ready to share soon.

Even though I love that quilt, and those fabrics are just to die for and it is still definitely crush-worthy, I have nothing new to show you. So, we are going to focus on your crushes this week!

First, a recap of a few of last week’s great link-ups:

Alycia of Alycia Quilts was gifted this fantastic barn quilt. I don’t have a barn, yet I still want one! 🙂 Just look at that red barn!!! Doesn’t that quilt look delicious hanging there?

Kathi of Run n’ Stitch shared her sweet starry finish. I love the wonky stars in this quilt.

Maggie of Making A Lather shared a pic of some hexie flowers she received in a swap. I’ve been wanting to try my hand at EPP for a while now and these have just nudged me over the edge! Look at these adorable flowers:

In a few weeks I’ll be traveling to Cleveland to care for my mother-in-law for a few days. I have been looking for a portable project and some little hexies just might be the answer. I’ll let you know how that turns out. 😉

After some lovely weather the past few days, it is going to get hot here again this week. The cooler days and nights have been fantastic and have me anticipating fall weather. I hope the weather is nice wherever you are, and hope you get some quality sewing time this week!

Now it’s time for you to share your crushes for this week. Your crush can be anything sewing, quilting, or handwork (knitting, anyone?) related. You can link up any blog post, Instagram or Flickr pic – here’s how:

About Beth

I'm a wife, mother of two, and lover of all things crafty. I love to cook up new things in the kitchen and in my craft room, and sometimes get "licking the spoon" mixed up with "licking the fabric"!!

SO excited to see your finished Grunge quilt! I have a major crush on Grunge. . . it makes an appearance in a lot of my quilts 🙂

I hope your stay with your MIL goes well. If I need a had project, my go to is crochet. . . I still have not taken the EPP plunge.

  4. Kathi Riemer says:

I can hardly wait to see your grunge quilt! Thank you for highlighting my star quilt Beth! I always take my knitting when I travel. I knit socks, which are the perfect portable project. Enjoy your time with your mother-in-law.

I agree EPP is a nice travel project. But I’m finding you have to go a lot to make any progress. Now that I’m not sitting at soccer or swim practice, my poor EPP project has stalled. Have a great week. Good luck finishing up the grunge quilt. I’m looking forward to seeing how it turned out.

EPP is a nice travel along project – if you have not done it before though remember to pack matching threads to your fabric, I have one going and at first I thought you just used strong hand quilting thread and grabbed my spool of white and my thread was showing if you use matching thread it works better and you are more satisfied 🙂
