MCM #14 – Working on FMQ

This week I have a couple of tops that I am quilting, one of mine and one for a client. I am looking forward to working on both these quilts.

You’ve heard me say it before – watching a quilt top come to life during the quilting is my favorite part of making a quilt. It is sometimes difficult to decide on a quilting design, but I believe that will get easier with more experience.

The top I’m working on for myself is made with bright rainbow colors. I ordered matching threads to use and I love how they look together.

Superior So Fine! Threads

I get almost as excited about stashing thread as I do fabric!

This top will take some time to quilt as the design involves a lot of stops/starts and thread cutting.

The client’s top has a ton of negative space for me to work with, which is pretty exciting. There are just so many design possibilities!  I’ve been doing some preliminary sketches and have some ideas, but still need to make some final decisions.

I hope to have progress pics on both projects to share later this week.

So that’s what has me excited this week and is my crush for Main Crush Monday.  What are you working on this week? I would love to see your projects. You can share any blog post or Instagram pic – here’s how:

About Beth

I'm a wife, mother of two, and lover of all things crafty. I love to cook up new things in the kitchen and in my craft room, and sometimes get "licking the spoon" mixed up with "licking the fabric"!!

Scrumptious prints and the threads match so well!! Isn’t it wonderful when you find the perfect thread for a project? 🙂

I whole heartily agree – stashing threads is pretty exciting 🙂 I love being able to audition threads and find the perfect one just waiting to be used 🙂

  5. You are so right that stashing thread is just as exciting as stashing fabric – being able to pull the just right blending thread from my stash is a thrill every time! 🙂 I hope that you have a lot of fun quilting this week.
