Yesterday I spent some much needed time in my sewing room cleaning it up. I’m in a major decluttering kind of mood, so it felt good to get everything put in its place and have clean cutting and sewing tables. 🙂
After my work was done I wanted to sew something, but I didn’t want a big involved project or one that would have me messing up my clean room!
I’ve been moving two star blocks out of my way for a while now, so I decided to put borders on the one shown above and play with some FMQing. I had so much fun! This is the first sewing I’ve done in a long time that was just for me and I had the most enjoyable afternoon, just playing around. To top it off, I ended up with the cutest mini quilt to hang in my sewing room. 🙂
I love how this little quilt looks. I stitched in the ditch around the star shapes first, then did matchstick quilting in the background areas to make the star pop. It’s amazing how puffy that star is!
That quilting texture is so yummy….
After I trimmed and squared the block I flipped it over and saw the back. Look at that!
This little sweetie will be hanging in my sewing room soon. Quilty Sister went a little gaga over this mini, so she might be getting one sometime soon. And I’ll be doing more of this fun sewing more often!
