Baby Quilt Finish

Baby Quilt Loopy Flowers FMQThis sweet quilt was pieced by my super client Dee. I call her that because she is the most prolific quilter I’ve met, and she keeps me busy quilting her tops. Two of the nine I mentioned on Monday are her quilts. Usually they are cross-stitched quilts, but she surprises me occasionally and gives me one or two that are pieced. πŸ™‚

To keep the quilt cuddly and soft, I had fun quilting a loose loopy meander all over. Because there are several pastel colors in the top, I used a light yellow thread. Yellow is becoming one of my favorite thread colors to use. It blends so beautifully with just about any color, and doesn’t ‘pop’ off a dark color like white does.

See how well the thread blends?

Dee chose a pretty green solid for the binding. Green is not one of my favorite colors, but this shade is sooo pretty, and I really like the way it frames the quilt.

Baby Quilt BindingThis is my first official client finish of 2018! Now I’m off to finish up the next one.

Hooray for the first client finish! I love that there are colors like yellows that do amazing things on quilts. The loops are perfect.

  3. What sweet little mice on this quilt! I like using soft yellow as a neutral thread, too. Even a brighter yellow works if the colors in the quilt are fairly saturated. It’s a hard working color πŸ™‚
