A Small Finish

Today is Friday and I have a Friday Finish to share!

I’m probably as surprised as you are…

Last week our local quilt shop asked me to make a few letters from the Alphabet Soup book. Of course I said yes, almost before the question was completely asked! I had so much fun working with the shapes in the letters when I made Jenny’s banner, so I jumped at the chance to make more. Having someone else provide the fabric was just icing on the cake!

The guys will take this piece and turn it into a bench pillow. They are busy prepping for the Mountain Quilt Quest shop hop that begins July 17 and the pillow will be on display. I’ll also have a new quilt pattern available during the shop hop – hopefully I can get some sunny pics to share with you here soon. We’ve had a couple of really dreary, gray days. But we need the rain so it’s a mixed blessing.

Oops, I got sidetracked by the weather….

If you follow me on Instagram (I hope you do!), you may have seen this picture. I was so dang impressed by the perfect points when I made the V – I was almost afraid to look to see how I did. Boy, was I a happy quilter! Perfect points make me feel all warm and fuzzy. You know, because I don’t achieve them very often! 🙂

Perfect Points

If you’re on the fence about adding the Alphabet Soup pattern book to your collection, I say go for it! The layout and design options for these letters and numbers are endless. I can’t wait to make a banner for my sewing room. (Nobody asked me to say these nice things, I just love the patterns and can definitely recommend this book.)

I’m so excited about having a finish I can share, I’m going to link to Finished or Not Friday, and Finish it Up Friday. Go check out all the great bloggers that share their projects!

These letters look perfect for a Linus Challenge I’m working on. I was wondering if there are different size letters or they all bigger? Must get to the store and see what the book is all about! Your love banner is super.

  2. Oh, how fun and pretty! Wow those corners are impressive! Congrats on the finish.

  3. I love all the word banners I see coming from this book. You make it sound easy. What you did was super cute!

  4. Perfect points are like a drug to us quilters! I’m like you, I don’t achieve them often enough so I’m all “woo hoo!” when a few work out 🙂

    Your LOVE lettering looks great!

  5. Looks really cute! Great job with the perfect point!

Those points are crazy perfect! We have the one ruler but I’ve been so scared to play with it.

Wow your points are perfect! I’m so tempted by that book, but I’m terrified that it’ll be too much work. But maybe one day. I can’t wait to see you quilt this!

  8. What a great finish and it will make a beautiful bench pillow. I might also be a whole lot of biased because the letters are blue. 🙂 I look forward to seeing your new design!

  9. Mari says:

Congratulations on the prefect points! Don’t believe I’ve ever achieved it. *Love* the banner!

That turned out so stinking cute!! Love your perfect points;)

  13. I wasn’t so sure I needed the alphabet lettering until I’m seeing what you’re doing. So cute! So maybe I need to get the book (and rulers). Hmm. The angels sing when I look at that perfect point, y’know? I can totally relate to the elation over a perfect point!
