4th of July Holiday & Quilt Show

Fireworks, grilling, a long weekend, time with family and friends – I hope you are having a wonderful Independence Day holiday! Yesterday hubby and I got to spend the day at the Mountain State Art and Craft Fair. It is the oldest craft fair in West Virginia and is held every year around the 4th of July.

It’s been a really long time since we’ve attended – maybe twenty years? – which is really sad considering it takes place less than an hour from where we live.

Anyway, hubs had the day off so off we went. The day was beautiful, not too hot, sunny, just gorgeous.  Double bonus – there was a quilt show and I ran into it by accident!!!  Guess I should’ve read the Program of Events they gave us when we paid our admission….

I was so psyched when I saw the quilt show sign I made a beeline for the building dragging hubby along (he was really good about it).  I took pictures of some of the quilts, but I have a confession. I didn’t even think about getting good pics for the blog.  I know, I know….smack me now!  I took pics mostly to send to my Sis so she could drool from afar.  I’m going to blame it on being a new blogger and having to train my brain to start thinking like one! (Or maybe I went a little crazy when I opened that door and saw all that beauty staring me in the face and I just blanked out…) 🙂

So, even though the pics aren’t good I wanted to share them with you.  I apologize right now – I didn’t get info on who created these quilts. If any of these are yours please let me know so I can credit your work.

There are some mad skills shown in these quilts. If you live close by I hope you have a chance to check out the fair and the quilts for yourself.

Have a great weekend! Here’s the pics:

The hubs favorite. This is not a block - it's a full size quilt. I couldn't get far enough back to get a full picture.
