3 Yard Quilt Finished; Progress on The Cards

Happy Hump Day! I hope your week is going well and you are enjoying some sewing time. I’ve made some progress on my own projects and thought I’d share what I’ve been working on.

I finished the store sample Monday evening. The pattern was easy, and calls for just three fabrics of 1 yard each. The guys asked that I make it a bit bigger, so I added an extra border. The fabrics are from Fig Tree. I love the blue print, but having big (8″) blocks and a wide border (5″) of it kinda screams ‘look at me’. But hey, maybe that’s what this quilt is suppose to be screaming….

As is usually the case, the top looks so much better in person. I have a difficult time capturing these colors on my camera.

Store Sample QuiltThis was a fast make. It could be done in a day very easily. I cut the fabrics on Sunday, and put the top together on Monday. If you need something fast, I can certainly recommend this pattern!

Fig Tree FabricsI also made a little progress on my MILs quilt. This is a project that I’ll work on in between others, so I expect this one to take a little while.

Card Trick Block CenterThose four patches are the centers of the 30 blocks I’ll be making. Now I’m ready to move on to the next step!

I’ve also finished one of the two customer quilts on my list for this week  (no pics) and I feel really good about that. My longarm schedule is booked through March, so I’ve got a LOT of quilting to do!

That’s it for now. I’m off to grab a little sleep – Night!

The store sample really says “spring”. It turned out beautifully. Love the blues you are using for your MIL’s quilt. Looking forward to seeing more of those blocks on the blog.

  3. The three yard quilt really does highlight the fabrics! Perfect for yardage you hate to cut too small 🙂 Remind me: is this one of your patterns? Do you have a link for it?

  4. Great store quilt Beth;think we’re both burning the midnight oil this week. Love those projects you sew between others; like a free quilt top – almost!

  5. The fabrics are scream SPRING. I love it.

What is the name of this pattern? I love quick and easy and with only a yard of 3 different fabrics, sounds like a winner!

      Hi Vicki,
The pattern is called ‘Stepping Stones’ by Fabric Café. There’s an entire line of 3 fabric / 3 yard patterns. They are easy, and best of all, FAST!

  7. Love those quick projects! They are so satisfying. Good to hear your longarm business is keeping you hopping! How fun!

  8. Patricia says:
